Well, then, after all the nervousness and concern, how did Mann fare when time came for lights, camera,
action? EEW Magazine has the footage of her full "The View" performance. Watch below.

GRAMMY® Award nominated Gospel singer, Tamela Mann, may be a veteran artist who has sung across the
nation, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t get jitters just like the average singer.

“I’m nervous every time I sing,” said the 47-year-old in an April 22 social cam video recorded by her husband
David Mann from backstage on the set of ABC’s “The View”. Mann was moments away from singing in
celebration of her friend, co-host Sherri Shepherd’s 47th birthday.

“That’s when I know I need the Lord. I can’t do it by myself,” Mann told John, a television producer.

“That’s interesting,” he said. “Like, after all this time, you’re still nervous every time.”

In an EEW Magazine interview, Mann admitted to having a debilitating case of stage fright in her early career.
One time, she got on stage where family and friends had come to see her perform and nothing came out
when she opened her mouth. She was literally choking on her own nerves.
Though much better nowadays, Mann still gets a mean case of butterflies before delivering what repeatedly
seem to be effortless performances.

When Producer John asked why she struggled to keep her nerves in check, the “Take Me To The King”
singer replied, “It’s new. Even though it’s maybe the same song that you’re singing, it’s new people.”
She ended with, “You always hope for the best in everything that you do.”

“The best” certainly describes the kind of year 2014 is shaping up to be for Mann.

After being nominated for a Grammy,
she won seven Stellar Awards. Her single, “I Can Only Imagine” from
her “Best Days” CD, currently sits at No. 3 on Billboard’s “Hot Gospel Songs” chart.
