Oprah Winfrey is bring the life of a positive African-American family to the small screen.
The OWN CEO announced that a new reality show featuring Holly Robinson Peete and her husband, former NFL player, Rodney Peete, will premiere on the network.
Tentatively titled For Peete's Sake, the forthcoming show will follow the couple and their children— including their autistic son— giving viewers a look inside how the husband-and-wife team balance careers with family life.
It will be a part of OWN’s Saturday evening lineup alongside original series Welcome to Sweetie Pie's, Raising Whitley and 2 Fat 2 Fly.
"As longtime members of The Oprah Show family, we've watched Holly and Rodney navigate successful careers in show business, a devoted marriage and a growing, love-filled family," said OWN president Sheri Salata. "This new series gives an entertaining and honest look at a modern family that just happens to live in the celebrity spotlight."
Robinson Peete added, "Rodney and I couldn't be more thrilled to call OWN our new TV home. We are excited to share our family's chaotic bliss and zany journeys with OWN's loyal and authentic audience."
On a more personal note, Robinson Peete told Winfrey, "You've always been a presence at our family's milestone moments.”
The Peetes have been married since 1995. Their family includes Holly’s “wild-and-crazy” 80-year-old mom Delores; 17-year-old twins RJ and Ryan Elizabeth; 13-year-old Robinson; and 10-year-old Roman.
Winfrey announced the show at the OWN headquarters in West Hollywood, as part of Fast Company's FC/LA creativity conference.
