Shirley Caesar and CeCe Winans, both award-winning gospel singers with distinctly anointed
voices and beautiful smiles, have fallen victim to a huge Grammy Awards flub.

During the pre-edited Lifetime Achievement Awards segment, which aired during the live
televised event, Winans was mistaken for Caesar in the video montage—a huge blunder the
“Alabaster Box” singer is taking in stride.

“You can’t mistake Shirley Caesar's beauty or voice!” tweeted Winans, 52, paying homage to the
legendary Caesar, 78, who received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the Grammys
this year.

Unfortunately, her shining moment was overshadowed by the poorly edited visual tribute, which,
also spelled the honoree’s  last name wrong—mistakenly typing out Caeser instead of Caesar.

Many Internet users and fans of gospel music blasted the Recording Academy for both errors.

But the always classy and sweet
10-time Grammy-winning Winans, whose latest album Let Them
Fall In Love
just debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart, is spreading positivity
by taking t
his opportunity to pour love on Caesar.

“Thank you for a lifetime of blessings! I adore you,” she wrote, acknowledging the 1
1-time
Grammy winner
whose career spans decades.

Caesar’s hit "Hold My Mule," featuring Albertina Walker and Milton Brunson, which was first
released in 1988, got new life in 2016 when a remix of it sparked the viral
#UNameIt Challenge.

It soared to No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs chart and was streamed millions of times
according to Nielsen music.

Despite the uproar and backlash
over the mix-up, Caesar still received her special award, about
which Winans said, “Congrats on the well-deserved Grammy!”
