You Mad? Tina Of Mary Mary Calls Erica’s White Dress
Critics ‘A Bunch Of Haters’
Article By Tamara Abrams:: EEW MAGAZINE ENTERTAINMENT NEWS

It is no secret by now that 41-year-old Grammy-nominated gospel solo artist, Erica Atkins-Campbell’s skin tight
white dress worn in a promotional photograph caused a stir online. It has become one of the most buzzed about
controversies within the faith community.

Just as the white-hot controversy was beginning to cool down, Tina Atkins-Campbell, never one to bite her
tongue, had a few pointed words for her older sister’s critics: you’re all a bunch of haters who could never look
as good in a dress like that.

Ouch!

In an interview with
Rolling Out, the fiery red head said, “What was the problem? She’s completely covered up,
her hands are posed very gracefully. She’s not cocking her hips, she’s not poking her booty out, she’s not
puckering her lips, she’s not doing anything."

“You’re looking at her looking nice, and yes, the dress is fitted and her body looks nice in it, but she’s not trying
to ‘give it to you.’ The problem is God made her beautiful and it’s not her problem. Most of the people with the
problem are mad that they can’t put that dress on and look the same way; that is their problem!”

In Tina’s opinion, the chorus of voices saying that the clingy frock may have been a bit too revealing for a
Christian artist, was made up of mostly envious and jealous-hearted women, who secretly wish they could look
as alluring as the “Little More Jesus” singer.

“It’s a bunch of haters and religious people because religious people are the same people that killed Jesus,”
Tina continued.
“This is just a bunch of rules and regulations on ‘this is how things are supposed to be done.’ The main thing
we know about Jesus is love. Where is your love? All you’re doing is condemning and ridiculing.”

While some had no issue at all with the tight dress and took to blogs to express their support, others were very
vocal about their disapproval of the hip-hugging turtleneck dress.

Is Tina right?

Are the majority of those who did not agree with Erica’s fashion choice either jealous haters or religious and
judgmental accusers?
