Serita Jakes, author, Bible teacher and First Lady of the 30,000-member Potter’s House of Dallas,
has a full schedule, but she’s not too busy for the children.

On Thursday, March 9, the women’s ministry leader dropped by Clay Academy, a Dallas, Texas-
based Christian private school, to motivate the children during career day.

“Thank you so much to Clay Academy for an awesome Career Day,” she said in an
Instagram post,
sharing a collage of photographs from her visit.

“There is so much in store for all of the precious little ones that were in attendance,” the

Princess Within
author added.

Clay Academy is located in the Capella Park community, a rapidly growing business and
professional development in Dallas. The Pre-K3 - eighth grade school was founded by Bishop T.D.
Jakes, leader of the Potter’s House.

The mega pastor and his wife are always seeking ways to inspire the Clay Academy student body.
In
2009, NBA great Shaquille O’Neal surprised the elementary and middle school students, and
encouraged them to take school seriously, and follow their dreams.

"As Clay Academy continues its commitment toward excellence, it's imperative that we reinforce
education and success,” said Bishop Jakes in a statement.

The school is training its pupils, not just through traditional instruction, but also through the
integration of advanced technology and fiber optic infusion in most classrooms. Enrollees also
benefit from virtual instruction by global, world class educators.

According to Clay Academy’s mission statement, it “strives to inspire students of purpose from
around the world to become tomorrow's leaders in a challenging and spiritual environment.”

Mrs. Jakes has a soft spot for the youth. In an emotional
2014 sermon she said, “Most discussions
on youth have focused on issues such as drug abuse, crime, violence, sexuality and poverty."

With tears streaming down her face, she continued, “Our youth are facing an identity crisis,
[wondering] who am I? They have lack of self-confidence and low self-esteem, thinking I am
worthless. They have a sense of hopelessness.”

Her uplifting talk at Clay Academy is one of the ways she is working to combat that feeling
hopelessness with a message that reinforces the value and purpose of today's youth.
