Bishop T.D. Jakes’ youngest daughter Sarah Jakes-Roberts, 25, proves that your mess-ups can become the
platform for your ministry.

On Sunday’s episode of Bravo’s
The Real Housewives of Atlanta, the preacher’s kid shared experienced-based
advice about divorce.

In a conversation with cast member Phaedra Parks, who is contemplating splitting up with her incarcerated
husband Apollo Nida, Jakes-Roberts said, “I know it’s hard, especially when it plays out in front of everyone and
you haven’t even had a chance to process it, so I completely understand.”

After divorcing her former NFL husband Robert Henson in 2012, the popular author and speaker married Los
Angeles-based pastor, Touré Roberts, in a private ceremony in November 2014.

These days, the drama of her first union is behind her.

“Sarah handled every moment that she confronted in her life with such dignity,” said Parks during the show. “I
think she’s the best person to talk to about my issues.”

Though Jakes-Roberts is now being commended for the way she dealt with her high-profile rough patch,
according to her, it wasn’t at all easy.

“You know, it was a difficult decision for me. I had my son at 14 and so I couldn’t bear to have another ‘church
mess-up,’ another church mistake, but the reality is, I was suffering,” she explained.

Jakes-Roberts continued, “I had everything that looked great on the outside, but at the end of the day I was
crying myself to sleep and marriage isn’t this place where you should feel like you need protection.”

She added, “It’s the place where you should be the most vulnerable and when I was robbed of the ability to be
vulnerable, I knew that I was in a bad situation.”

Parks noted, ‘People, when they look at preachers’ kids, they think, ‘Wow, they’re supposed to be perfect,’ but, at
the end of the day, we’re all human.”

It looks like Jakes-Roberts' "human" failings are directing Parks and others to a supernatural God in whom is no
failure.
