Marvin Sapp Thankful For Only Minor Tornado Damage

Michigan (EEW News) "Never would have made it" singer Marvin Sapp has a reason to smile after the
architectural structure of his church property survived a vicious tornado.

The 47-year-old pastor of Lighthouse Full Life Center Church is thanking God for sparing a building he owns
after the plaza right next door was ravaged by tornado winds reaching approximately 100-110 miles per hour.

According to the Associated Press a severe thunderstorm spawned a tornado that injured at least six people
and caused significant damage to homes in western Michigan, as well as some homes in Iowa Sunday evening.

“Major storm in my city last night. Destroyed the plaza next to my building Praise Place,” Sapp wrote in a
Monday, July 7 tweet.

But the raging winds left “Praise Place” a multi-purpose ministry facility that houses a 250-seat auditorium and
“Jacob’s Well” café, largely intact.

To express his gratefulness for only minor damage, realizing the outcome could have been much worse, Sapp’s
tweet included three hashtags: “#stillstanding” “#minorleaksintheroof” and “#2GodBTheGlory”.

The tornado hit hard, knocking down trees and power lines, ripping the roofs off a number of houses and
sending two people to hospitals for treatment after their homes collapsed, Kentwood Mayor Stephen Kepley
said in a statement.

Many roads remained impassible Monday afternoon because of fallen trees says the AP report. Among those
wounded were no cases involving life-threatening injuries.

Sapp remains full of thanksgiving for only minor leaks needing repairs in the roof. At least he, unlike some
neighboring residents, has a roof left to repair.
