Beauty comes in every shade. We are all fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God. But often, this
truth is not reflected in magazines, television shows and movies.

Nyong’o is shattering beauty myths that have permeated American culture.
The 12 Years A Slave actress and newest ambassadress for Lancome is positively glowing in her first ad
promoting the global beauty brand’s Teint Idole foundation.

With radiant skin and a piercing glance, the 31-year-old Mexican born Kenyan actress defies stereotypes and
proves that gorgeous faces, eyes and hair come in every shade, color and texture.
The brand’s spokesperson said of the Yale School of Drama graduate, “She is an outstanding example of a
natural beauty; confident and simply true to herself, she embraces life with freshness, citing happiness as the
most attractive form of radiance.”
Nyong’o said of the partnership, “I am truly honored to join the Maison Lancôme, a brand with such a
prestigious history and that I have always loved.”
She added, “I am particularly proud to represent its unique vision for women and the idea that beauty should
not be dictated, but should instead be an expression of a woman's freedom to be herself.”
