Condolences: Tasha Cobbs Loses Father Bishop Fritz Cobbs
Shortly After Triple Stellar Wins
On the heels of an exciting triple win at the 2014 Stellar Awards, “Break Every Chain” singer, Tasha Cobbs, is
mourning the sudden passing of her father, Bishop Fritz Cobbs, whom multiple sources say died Sunday, Jan.
The pastor of Jesup New Life Ministries, Inc. in Jesup, GA, was reportedly in attendance to support his only
daughter during her shining musical moment at Municipal Auditorium in downtown Nashville before passing
away. The cause of death has not been publicized.
"Hey Family! Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers!" tweeted Cobbs in response to the outpouring
of love and concern. "They are felt! Love You Guys!"
For years, the rising vocalist, also a three-time Dove Award winner, served under her father’s ministry until
relocating to Atlanta in 2006 after she said the voice of God directed her to go. Once Bishop Cobbs confirmed
what she sensed, within hours, the soon-to-be gospel star packed up her things and started out on her journey.
Once in Atlanta, she connected with Pastor William H. Murphy, III of the dReam Center church where she
currently serves as Pastor of Worship.
At the time of writing this article, no further details have been released by the family.
