Kirk Franklin Motivates Students at Historically Black
University: ‘I Love This Generation’
Article By Constance Mays:: EEW MAGAZINE NEWS
Inspiring the younger generation to thrive is so important and multi award-winning gospel recording artist, Kirk
Franklin, 44, is doing his part.
On Tuesday, Feb. 25, the CEO of Fo You Soul Entertainment, Inc. provided a motivational talk to University of
Arkansas at Pine Bluff students as a part of the “Youth Motivational Task Force” (YMTF) Program.
In addition to speaking at the historically black university, Franklin, dressed in a tan blazer and turtleneck, and
blue cuffed jeans, both conducted and danced along with the school's band, as attendees captured his every
move on their smart phones.
Classic Kirk.
“Love this generation,” tweeted Franklin about his interactions with the students at the free event held at H.O.
Clemmons arena of the Kenneth L. Johnson, Sr. Health, Physical Education and Recreation (HPER) Complex.
The purpose of the YMTF is to encourage students to take advantage of the benefits available to them, show
them how to succeed in their respective career fields, and facilitate opportunities for them to learn from pros—
like Franklin.
FEBRUARY 26, 2014
Franklin is and has always been outspoken about his dedication to sowing seeds into others in the hopes of
equipping them to be their best.
With nine Grammy Awards, 39 Stellar Awards, 16 Dove Awards, eight NAACP Image Awards, two BET Awards,
an American Music Award, and a Soul Train Award under his belt, he knows a thing or two about what it takes
to be successful.
He continuously uses his influence to deposit wisdom into the lives of those who will come after him.
