“Tired of seeing these celebrities pimping Jesus to win public sympathy after they get caught slipping,” wrote a
woman named Roberta in a message to EEW Magazine.

Her complaint (and several others like it) come on the heels of last week’s big story on pop star Justin Bieber’s
bath tub baptism following two leaked videos of him cracking n*gger jokes.

Is he, in fact, “pimping Jesus”?

In Hollywood, when you get caught cheating on your spouse you go to therapy or rehab. When you get
exposed using the N-word on camera, if you’re 20-year-old Bieber, you go through a ceremonial cleansing.
After gossip website TMZ, notorious for its takedown of celebrities and major public figures with damnable
evidence revealing bad behavior, unearthed and published two racist videos featuring “The Biebs,” he ran to
Jesus.

Filmed when he was around 15, one video shows him making a wise crack about why African-Americans are
afraid of chainsaws, using the n-word.

The most recently published clip reveals the “Boyfriend” singer spoofing the performance of his own song,
“One Less Lonely Girl,” replacing the word ‘girl’ with n*gger.

“If I kill you, I’ll be part of the [white supremacist] KKK and there’ll be one less lonely n*gger,” he said.
Readily apologizing and reportedly realizing the error of his ways, Bieber was baptized by Hillsong Church
pastor Carl Lentz in a low-key ceremony in New York City. Before that, the two completed Bible studies and had
one-on-one time to get the young star focused.

But is Bieber’s conveniently timed baptism just a ploy?

Maybe.

Maybe not.

A
Huffington Post report said he had been searching for a private pool to complete the ceremony for months—
since February—when a photograph of him came out with an exotic dancer.

“I hate to see peoples past mistakes cause pain in the present. I'm proud of Justin Bieber, the man he is/is
becoming, despite old videos,” tweeted Pastor Lentz in Bieber’s defense.

In the past, the sullied singer has been vocal about his faith in Christ. Among his more than 40 body tattoos,
are images of an angel, praying hands, the Messiah, and a large cross.

In April, Bieber appeared in a Christian rap video expressing how awed he was by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ,
giving His life for sinners.

So then, whatever the motivation for his latest high profile act of faith, can studying the word of God and
receiving biblical counsel from a pastor ever be a bad thing?
