Be Unique: Tasha Cobbs says ‘do you the way God
instructed you to do you’

It’s easy to fall into a copycat pattern, living life based on the cookie-cutter ideas, practices and
principles of the majority.

But GRAMMY® Award-winning gospel recording artist Tasha Cobbs Leonard instructs all “Kingdom
agents” to embrace their uniqueness and “
do you the way God instructed you to do you.”

“I was sitting here feeling that I should encourage someone to stay focused,” wrote the “Break
Every Chain” singer in a wisdom-filled and inspiring
Instagram post during her homeward-bound
flight.

“The race is not given to the swift nor to the strong but to the one who endures to the end,”
continued the Jesup, Georgia native, referencing Ecclesiastes 9:11.

For those feeling a desire to fixate on and mimic someone else’s success, Cobbs Leonard offers
this advice: “If and when you do you the way God instructed you to do you … it’ll always be fresh.

It’ll always be right. It’ll always be effective.”

The newlywed songstress, who
married her musical director, Kenneth Leonard, back in March, told
her followers, “Pull that journal out. Revisit your purpose. Go back and do what God gave you
instructions to do. Do it… do it with honor; do it with pride; do it with grace.”

While pushing followers into purpose, Cobbs Leonard acknowledged that it is difficult to remain
focused on your unique and specific divine purpose without getting caught up with others’ social
media feeds’ littered with “constant updates, flyers, likes, followers.”

“It is easy to get wrapped up in the successes of others and discount where God has you,” wrote
the 36-year-old.

“To every Kingdom agent, we are all on the same team, working towards the same goal. We all
have the same Father,” she added, concluding, “And, simply put, we all have the same enemy. No
matter your assignment in the body of Christ… if you fail, we all fail.”
